Photoshop CS6 produces larger images in your finished documents. If you resize a document that’s been edited in Photoshop CS6, it will have a bit of a jiggle in the edges that cannot be corrected by clicking the Apply Image menu or by using the Control-Z/Command-Z shortcut keys. However, there is an easy fix, as described in detail in the next sections.

Through presets, sometimes called _sessions,_ you can create a set of customized settings that you apply to a document with a single click, saving much time and effort. For example, your new documents will have the same types of elements (images, graphics, and text), or a certain combination of elements, and you can create a session to apply to these documents as a default.

If you decide that you need to edit a photograph of an individual or a family, you can use a few basic elements: a beautiful portrait, an interesting photo of a cityscape with a famous landmark, and an action shot with people running around. However, you need to perform a good deal of very specific tasks to produce a polished image that may resemble a professional photo.

To get to the advanced settings that you need to create professional-looking images, you need to take up the tools of image editing.

Using the Brush

Most professional photographers use a tool that’s usually loaded in Photoshop: a Digital Photo Professional (DPP) tool that can be found in the Brush menu in Photoshop CS6. By default, Photoshop uses the Brush tool, which is also what you see in Figure 2-1. You can use the Brush tool to edit and transform your image. You can also use the Brush tool to create layers, which we explain in more detail in Chapter 6.

To create the layering techniques in this book, I use the Photoshop Brush tool set to the soft round brush. The settings for this particular brush in Photoshop CS6 are listed in the following steps.

I played through the first four chapters of Assassin’s Creed Unity yesterday, and I think I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s the first Assassin’s Creed game that really breaks new ground. But that’s not to say it fails. In fact, it’s the best of the modern AC games, in terms of how well it draws from its source material. Without spoiling anything, I will say that this one more than any other offers fans of the (recent) history of the franchise an opportunity to do something very special with it.

I’ll get to the “spiritual sequels” part of this in a second, but let’s first take a look at how the game handles the first four chapters. First, the story.

Seeing as it’s apparently impossible to write a review or opinion piece without spoiling something, here’s the trick: I’m only going to reveal what I deem to be the important parts of the story. There’s more to it than that, but none of that stuff will be particularly relevant to anyone who hasn’t played Unity.

Let’s begin.

It begins with Connor throwing rocks at some revolutionaries, winning an engagement, and winning the hearts of the revolution. It also ends with Connor stabbing a random dude who decided to cross his path, and his “moment of truth,” of course.

During the course of the game, Connor barely has one “moment of truth” to speak of. Most of the time he’s running away from the French counter-revolutionaries or killing them for no good reason. At that point, he’s basically “the game’s hero.” The missions are very linear, too. He goes to a building, fights a guy, then fights a bunch of guys, then gets to a building, then fights a bunch of guys, then goes to a building, and so on.

On top of that, it’s kind of boring. The whole point of Assassin’s Creed is to, you know, assassinate people. I understand that it’s the 20th Anniversary of the franchise, but it’s a bit of a shame that they couldn’t find a way to incorporate the momentum and excitement of a level-based combat game like Ezio’s

It works very well but the problem is that the date format is not correct, because when I print it in console it looks like this.
