AutoCAD 2023 24.2 PC/Windows

AutoCAD Free Download was the first widely-used commercial graphics application running on personal computers, and was popular among architects and engineers as a desktop app. It introduced advanced drafting and design features, and became a multi-billion dollar industry leader. AutoCAD was the first graphics application to use a uniform model-view-controller (MVC) design pattern, and is still a favorite for CAD applications.

In 2011, Autodesk acquired the RogueWave 3D API, which provides access to the full power of the Microsoft DirectX technology-based graphics API.

In May of 2019, Autodesk’s AutoCAD updated its model-view-controller (MVC) interface design, and introduced the R12 release.

Who is Autodesk?

Autodesk is the world’s leading provider of 3D design software for architecture, construction, and manufacturing professionals. It has subsidiaries in the US, Canada, UK, France, and Australia, and it has licensed offices in over 70 other countries. More than 200 million people use Autodesk software to create, manage, and deliver their ideas into the world.

Autodesk started in 1969 as an educational software company called Autodesk Education, Inc. Autodesk’s parent company, DuPont, began automating the design of factories and mills, and Autodesk wanted to automate the design and design layout of 3D buildings as well.

In 1982, Autodesk was established as a software company and started selling CAD software to architects and engineers, mostly on minicomputers, and it was the first commercial CAD program to run on personal computers.

In 1984, Autodesk acquired MagicDraw, an architectural graphics design program.

In 1986, Autodesk was the first CAD software company to release a software product with a graphical user interface (GUI), and used this to win the face-to-face battle for CAD supremacy with companies like Papercraft and Aldus.

In 1987, Autodesk introduced the Autodesk Teacher’s Curriculum, a collection of three CAD training courses designed for classroom use.

In 1989, Autodesk released its first software product that was not a CAD program: a specialized computer-aided design (CAD) app called the Autodesk Plug-In Architecture Studio.

In 1990, Autodesk launched the Autodesk Academy to offer complete training courses for the new Cad design software that had

AutoCAD 2023 24.2 For Windows

AutoCAD’s original name was “DWG2CAD”, short for “Drawing Warehouse 2 CAD”, a term used in AutoCAD’s user interface. The DWG acronym originates from the “DWG” file format for Windows that was commonly used to store most of the 2-D DWG files. The DWG2CAD name was derived from “DWG” files and a CAD metaphor for what the program was supposed to do. The first AutoCAD release was on June 23, 1989. The name “AutoCAD” was an acronym for “Automatic Computer Aided Design”. The name was originally chosen because it allowed the program to run quickly. The “DWG2CAD” part was meant to indicate that the program supported DWG files as well as CADD (Computer Aided Design) files.

Early versions
AutoCAD 1.0 was first released on June 23, 1989. It was a DOS-based application. At the time of its release, only DWG files were supported for import/export, with no support for CAD format at all. The program was published by F.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co. (now a part of The Dow Chemical Company).

Autodesk, which now owns AutoCAD, began as a separate company called Autodesk, Inc. and then changed its name to Autodesk in 2000.

The naming of the different versions was discontinued after the 2.0 version. The numbering has been used for minor bug fixes and updates to functionality.

Supported platforms
The following list shows the Autodesk platforms that AutoCAD supports:

The AutoCAD Application Programming Interface (API)

The AutoCAD Application Programming Interface (API) is a set of application programming interfaces (APIs) and languages that allows application programs to communicate with Autodesk’s AutoCAD products.

What’s New In AutoCAD?

Add dialogue that appears while you type. Dialogues make it easy to describe entities, selections, routes, and comments, and to assign them to layers or blocks. This new feature also makes it easy to create dialogues for text fields and other entities. You can share dialogues with others, and they can reply. (video: 3:40 min.)

Redesigned Widgets:

Show design metrics in two- and three-dimensional views. Display what your selections look like, and the rules that determine how they affect other drawings. (video: 2:50 min.)

Expand the opportunity to incorporate 2D and 3D views. Anywhere in a drawing, you can click to view its three-dimensional model and explore the topography of your drawing. You can also switch back and forth easily between 2D and 3D. You can use this feature to plan, design, and manage your models. (video: 2:50 min.)

New ways to interact with the drawing window:

New ways to add, insert, delete, and arrange components in an Entity (drawing tool). Select from a set of built-in entities that you can add to your drawings quickly. You can also create your own entities. (video: 5:00 min.)

Tool panel tabbing makes it easier to navigate. When you select a drawing tool, its name appears in a tooltip, and the name of the tool is active in the toolbar. (video: 3:40 min.)

Windows and tabs that you can click to open different views of the same drawing. Windows create a hierarchy that lets you switch between views quickly, without opening separate files or switching views. (video: 4:35 min.)

Enhanced connectivity:

Make edits in one drawing (AutoCAD 2D) while you’re connected to another drawing. Import geometry, even complex entities such as lines or text, into a model in another drawing. Easily link drawings for collaborative editing. (video: 5:35 min.)

Edit and design on separate machines. With 2D or 3D modeling, you can work on your computer, and others can work on theirs. When they’re finished, you can connect to the same drawing, and all the changes are displayed at once. (video: 5:40 min.)

Design using other applications. You can drag entities and blocks from other applications into
