The first thing that pops into your mind when you hear the name of this versatile utility is “how difficult can it be?” And the answer is obviously “not very”. The user interface allows you to quickly run a search for the network configuration to be examined, modify the setup as required or even create a new custom settings sheet. This can be used for different connection types including normal Cable, 56K modem, satellite or ADSL.
The program is intended to make the process of tweaking the registry easier, but we should point out the fact that not all settings, even though pre-defined, are quite straightforward. These are the ones, for instance, that may require good knowledge of the Windows registry if you have to back out the modifications you made for the current configuration.
Even though CableNut focuses on handling the network settings, it also includes a few handy tools for users who want to take advantage of it, like the possible hotkey for deleting all the registry settings with a single click, for example.
All in all, CableNut is definitely a handy tool for Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows 98 users alike, as it works great without being a burden to the user. Nonetheless, CableNut is mainly for advanced users and can be a bit confusing at times. Nevertheless, we’ve definitely enjoyed using it.Q:
Why won’t my NSWindow close?
I am trying to figure out why a NSWindow won’t close when I call its close method. I can make the window close when I call it from the mouse, but not programmatically. I’ve also tried changing the close button to ‘X’ but that doesn’t work either. I can move the window to the left edge of the screen, but not to the right. Any ideas?
Here’s the code I’m using:
NSWindow* mainWindow = [[NSWindow alloc] initWithContentRect:NSMakeRect(0, 0, 0, 0) styleMask:NSBorderlessWindowMask backing:NSBackingStoreBuffered defer:NO];
// add display
NSArray* arr = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:@””, @””, nil];
NSArray* arrCopy = [[NSArray alloc] initWithArray:arr

A new series of (+/-)-8-oxodispiro[chroman-4,1′-phthalide] (1, 8-oxo-DPP) derivatives was designed and synthesized based on the structure-activity relationships (SAR) of 1. Among them, (-)-5, (+)-8-oxo-DPP, and (+)-7, (-)-8-oxo-DPP showed potent antipsychotic activity. However, the mechanism of antipsychotic action of these derivatives is still not clear. In the present paper, we synthesized and evaluated the pharmacological activities of the (+/-)-8-oxodispiro[chroman-4,1′-phthalide] derivatives. The results showed that most of the synthesized compounds have potent antipsychotic activity. In particular, (+/-)-5, (+/-)-7, and (+/-)-9 had activities similar to that of haloperidol. Based on the molecular modeling, the docking results, and the circular dichroism measurements, it was found that the substituents at the positions 6, 7 and 9 of the chroman-4,1′-phthalide moiety have dramatic
