The effect of this procedure was studied using computer assisted sperm analysis. The non-fertilizing semen samples from group A revealed oligospermia. The high percentage of immobilized spermatozoa from group A indicates that these semen samples may contain several layers of spermatozoa with different adhesiveness properties. In the B subgroups the percentage of immobilized spermatozoa was significantly reduced. These results are in agreement with our previous observations, indicating the important role of the macromolecular structures of spermatozoa in penetrating the cumulus oophorus.
