Photoshop is now in version 20, which has been out for three years. With the newest features, version 22, it was updated to an even newer version, version 24, last year.

This article describes the most popular features in the current version, Photoshop CC 2018.

Version 22 is often referred to as Photoshop CC 2018. This article refers to version 24 as Photoshop CC 2018.

The article below describes features that are available in all editions, but may differ between the Creative Cloud and Standalone editions of Photoshop.

1. How to Open and Save Files

For most reasons, it’s easiest to keep your files in one of the two directories – either the main Photoshop folder or the folder you most often open the program from.

Note: In the Creative Cloud versions of Photoshop, the main folder is called “App.” While you can still save files in the Photoshop folder, it’s not the best idea. Your files are not accessible until you open the program. If you’ve closed it and later close it again, the previously saved file is not automatically loaded into the program. This feature of the Creative Cloud edition has been removed in Photoshop CC 2018.

If you are using a separate Photoshop folder, make sure you set it as the default Photoshop location by creating a shortcut in the Start menu, opening the Start screen and navigating to the “Create a Shortcut” box.

To create a shortcut in the Start menu, open the Start screen and type “shortcut” in the search box.

In the Create a shortcut box, type %PROGRAMFILES% (or click on the Browse button and select the correct directory) and then click Create.

Double-click on the shortcut created to open Photoshop.

How to Save an Open File

To save the image, click on the image (or drag your cursor) and choose File > Save from the menu.

When the Save dialog box pops up, choose Save or Save As.

To save your edited image, click on Save or Save As in the dialog box.

To save a copy of the image for another session, choose File > Save As.

2. The Layers Panel
